Taylor Swift Jewellery: The Pieces Worn to Celebrate Her Masters

When Taylor Swift announced she had bought back her original recordings, she marked it with a series of relaxed photos on Instagram. Her outfit was understated, but the Taylor Swift jewellery she chose says plenty about the moment. Here is a look at the pieces, what they may mean and what they are worth.

Why the masters matter

In 2019, her former label, Big Machine Records, was bought by music executive Scooter Braun, and the master recordings of her first six albums changed hands with it. Taylor said she had not been given the chance to buy them back, and has called it one of the hardest things she has faced in her career.

Her answer was to re-record her early albums so she would own the new masters. That is why you see “Taylor’s Version” on Fearless, Red, Speak Now and 1989, all of which have been critical and commercial successes. Each came with vinyl editions that fans find tempting and costly to collect.

She has now announced that she has purchased the original masters from Shamrock Capital, which acquired them from Scooter Braun. The reported price is $360 million.

The look

The styling was calm and deliberate, a pared-back outfit that let the albums and the accessories do the talking.

For the photos, Taylor sat on the floor against a plain white backdrop, wearing a Khaite polo sweater, light-wash denim and white trainers. Her original albums were spread around her. The outfit was simple, which left room for the accessories.

Reading the Taylor Swift jewellery

According to Maxwell Stone of UK jeweller Steven Stone, she wore two rings and a watch:

  • A Tiffany & Co. “T” ring in 18k gold with round brilliant diamonds, a nod to her initial, retailing at $2,925
  • A Jacquie Aiche Evil Eye ring in 14k gold with pavé diamonds and a blue centre stone, symbolising protection and empowerment, at $2,485
  • A yellow gold Panthère de Cartier watch with the brand’s chain-link design, at roughly $10,000

The evil eye seems to matter to her. She has worn the symbol on several occasions, including a matching Jacquie Aiche bracelet and necklace in New York in September 2023. The Cartier watch is one she has been seen in before, and Maxwell reads it as a quiet reference to the time, resilience and patience it took to win back control of her music.

The bigger picture

The jewellery is a small detail in a much larger story. Owning her masters gives Taylor control over how her early music is used, and the re-recordings were a bold way to get there. The price reported for the original masters, $360 million, shows how valuable a catalogue like hers is.

What it all adds up to

Maxwell estimates the total value at around $15,410. He thinks it is probably higher, because a delicate chain necklace is visible in the photos, though nobody knows exactly what it is.

That small mystery fits Taylor perfectly, because she has always enjoyed keeping fans guessing. She leaves clues in her style, and fans love decoding them.

It is a good reminder that jewellery can say a lot without a word, and that a simple outfit can still tell a rich story. In this case, three carefully chosen pieces added a layer of meaning to a milestone that took years of legal wrangling and public debate to reach.
